My Go-To Design Inspiration
I have been a designer in some shape or form for over 30 years. I used to horde books but now I troll the internet hoping to find something fresh and eye-catching that will add inspiration it what can be a dry and problematic job.
Anyway rather than keep rambling on here I have put together a list of what I think are pretty cool resources for designers. You may want to bookmark this page so you can refer back to it later it is that GOOD.
DESIGN INSTRUCT Not the prettiest of sites but cool ideas and info. Including tutorials which may not be what you need at the time but always handy to check on new techniques.
BITTBOX a fountain of information with free to download filters, textures and other lovely stuff that makes a designers job just that little bit easier.
PIXELBUDHA again this has free stuff to but don’t forget to check out the other items that you can purchase as the quality is great. Who doesn’t need Distressed Vector Patterns, Retro Gold Lettering etc etc
CREATIVE MARKET offers a weekly collection of graphics. They got vectors for infographics, Photoshop pizzaz, fonts and textures for free.
I found a list of 74 stock photography resources but I have weeded out the better ones for you here.
DEATH TO THE STOCK PHOTO Beautiful imagery always makes a presentation jump of the board so if you like clean photography check it out. Delivers a pack of high quality photos every month direct to your inbox. Just sign up to the email list to get access. The photos you receive are always unique and interesting.
Search for Creative Commons licensed photos on 500px, a popular photo community with impressive high quality images. Remember not all images on 500px are free to use– always double check the copyright.
Another interesting site I found is CAMARAMA All of the images are high resolution and released to public domain. Sorry I just looked at the site again and it appears to be offline, maybe check back in a week because the images really were hot.
EPICANTUS is interesting too new photos every week to keep you inspired.
I could go on and on but I don’t want you to reach mental melt down. I will keep updating more as I find them.
